Our Story
As husband-and-wife team (together for over 35 years). We have two amazing children and daughter-in-law, and we are now as of May 2026, PROUD Grandparents of our first grandson. Family values are our highest commitment. We have personally been on the other side of the table with our parents trying to figure all of this out on our own. It is a very difficult process. So, we decided to start this path to help others navigate through all of the confusion. The Dragonfly started in our life first, when my father passed in 2009. Those first days and years were some of the worst we had ever felt. My mom was now without her husband that she had been with since the 60s. The look of loss was so deep in her eyes and her heart was never going to be the same. She no longer had her life long best friend, the love of her entire life and no one could fill that void she would have to live with. Robb and I were devastated, but had to be strong for my mom. One night as we all sat outside and we were thinking of him, wishing he was there with us, all of a sudden a dragonfly appeared in front of us and it just stayed there for a few minutes with us. We all had this overwhelming sense of his presence at that time. The feeling was one that has no words that can describe it, we just knew he was letting us know he was there with us and it was going to be okay. From that day on, anytime we needed to feel him near, needed to know we were going to be okay, a dragonfly would appear. My mom a few years later became very ill and unfortunately passed only 5 years and 20 days after my father in 2014. After her passing imagine, now that pain of losing her too was doubled. Robb and I did the same thing and would often sit outside or if we were out and we started thinking of them, not only would one dragonfly appear, but two. We continue to this day to feel their presence, their guidance and most of all their support when dragonflies appear. When we sold our home in Florida in 2018, we came to South Carolina for our forever home and after the grueling house hunt every house we looked at just felt like a house not a home. After many days of looking at houses we came to the last one on the list, as we got out of the car there was a feeling we could not explain, we both felt it. As we toured the house the feeling became so clear this was not only a house this felt like we were home. On the back porch there were two tea light dragonfly candles, that was our unspoken sign that this was to be our home. After signing the contract we drove back to the house to sit in the driveway and as we pulled up to the house two dragonflies appeared and sat on our windshield the entire time we sat there. Our agent told us several times it is not real common this time of year to see dragonflies. It might not have been common for the area, but we knew this was our confirmation that we found our home. Many times during the process of becoming agents we have just thought and prayed about this journey we were on, is this right path for us? And it never fails our guardian angels, my parents send us their sign and dragonflies appear. We are on the right path. We know this is where we need to be, helping people with our hearts and kindness. There is so much more to the story, but I will leave it here. God Bless everyone and know we are here to help you.
